ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC POWER STEERING
First the good news: Your MINI's Electro-hydraulic Power-assisted Steering (EHPAS) operates independently of the engine - so when no assist is needed, power steering isn't drawing engine power. That makes it more efficient and environmentally friendly.
Now, the great news: EHPAS makes steering a joy. With only 2.5 turns from full lock to full lock, the steering ratio is very direct. The result is precise and agile driving characteristics with only small amounts of steering movement necessary. "Super-responsive" and "precise" are ways one might describe the feel of driving a MINI. "Unfreakingbelievable" if one's really dramatic.
